Float Trip LO

Good evening!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

I'm still trying to get caught up on my scrapbook pages from last year.  I've made some progress recently and am pretty excited about these pages.  The biggest reason is because of the journaling.  I've seen people journal inside Cricut images or fun shapes and thought it looked really neat.  I decided I wanted to have my journaling on an image of a tent for this layout.

I laid the cuts out for the tent on my Gypsy.  This allowed me to figure out the height and width that I had available for my journaling.  Then I was able to adjust the alignment of my journaling on my computer so that it would fit inside the cut (or so I hoped!).  I know it would have been a lot easier if I had just hand-written the journaling, but I had a lot I wanted to write in a fairly small space!  I started by cutting out all the layers for the tent image (including the white layer that would have the journaling on it.  Then, before I removed the white layer from my mat, I put small pieces of tape along the top edge of the paper on the mat to hold it in place.  I removed the image, leaving the negative space behind.  I printed out my journaling and slid it underneath the negative image so that I could make sure that it would fit inside the image.  Once I had my journaling inside the image the way I wanted it, I set that paper in place and removed the negative image and tape I had holding it in place.  Then I cut the white layer of the image again, and it cut perfectly around my journaling.  I hope this made sense!!  I realize now I should have taken pictures of my steps so I could better explain this process to you!!

I'm submitting this LO to this week's Wacky Wednesday challenge over at More Than Favors.  The challenge this week is Vacation - create any project as long as it has a vacation theme.  Thanks for coming by to check out my project!
