FCCB #179 - Going Places and Blog Candy Winner

Happy Monday!  It's time for another fun challenge at Fantabulous Cricut!  This week's challenge is Going Places - we want to see your projects that include a Cricut cut image of something that gets you from one place to another (car, bike, plane, etc).

I decided to make a layout for this week's challenge.  My sweetie and I celebrated our first anniversary in Cozumel and went on a deep sea fishing trip while we were there.  Little did we know it wasn't really deep sea fishing season, but we still caught some fish and we had a great time doing it!

Sorry for the glare in the pictures.  I was having a hard time taking these photos.  The left page has pictures of the boat we were on and our two guides for the trip.  On the right page, I have pictures of my sweetie and I fishing and some of the fish we caught.

The title us cut from the Life is a Beach cartridge and the boat is cut from the Father's Day cartiridge.  I cut the title out twice, once in yellow and once in orange, then hand cut the fin, the dots for the i's and the apostrophe so the title with the fish wouldn't be one solid color.

The fish are all from the same image on the Life is a Beach cartridge.  I cut the image and its layer out 3 times in different colors so I could mix and match the fish to make them all different colors.

I also have the winner of my blog candy from the Fantabulous Cricut Vinyl Cricut Crawl to announce!!  The winner was chosen by random.org and the winner is..........#5!!
I loved your lantern! The vinyl cut outs are so beautiful. Great idea!

Julie, please leave me a message with a way to contact you so I can get your stamp sets in the mail!  Congratulations!!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to link up your project to the Going Place challenge at FCCB by Sunday evening!!

FCCB #177 Fall Vinyl Cricut Crawl

Welcome to Scrapping Runner Creations and the FCCB Vinyl Cricut Crawl - Fantabulous Cricut's version of a blog hop!!

This week we are challenging you to create a project using vinyl you have cut using your Cricut.  We have a fabulous sponsor, Cricket Vinyl Supplies.  If we get 100 participants in this challenge, Cricket Vinyl Supplies will give away a Cricut Expression package that includes a Cricut Expression machine, deep cut blade, Jasmine Cricut cartridge, ten 12 x 12 assorted sheets of matte vinyl and one 12 x 12 gridded transer tape.  How exciting is that??

If you've come from Jilliene at Jilliene Designing you're in the right place!  If you've just happened across my blog and would like to see all the fabulous Design Team creations, head on over to Fantabulous Cricut HERE to start at the beginning.

Make sure to check out each DT member's blog!  There will be blog candy along the way at ALL our DT members' blogs and there will be a Grand Prize up for grabs at FCCB for one participant who submits a project using vinyl at FCCB!

For my project I created this fun fall lantern.  I decorated the lantern with images of leaves and trees using great vinyl in fall colors from Cricket Vinyl Supplies.  The vinyl cut perfectly and I didn't have any issues getting it to the transfer tape and then onto the lantern.

I found the lantern on sale at the local Target store.  The cute fall-themed images are from Create a Critter 2 and Stretch Your Imagination.  Here are some close-ups.

And here's a picture of what the lantern looks like lit up.  I used a battery operated, flameless candle so I don't have to worry about the metal parts of the lantern getting hot or soot from the candle getting the glass dirty.

Blog Candy!!  I'm giving away two fun stamp sets to one lucky winner!  The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Saying Too and The Queen Bee sets.  All you have to do to win is leave a comment on this post.  I will announce the winner next Monday!!

Your next stop is Joneita at Create with Joneita.  Make sure to visit all the stops along the way and when you get done, make sure you link up your project to FCCB's Fantabulous Cricut Crawl post!!

Happy Crawling!!

First Birthday Card

Hello everyone!  I hope you're all having a great week!!  The weather has cooled down a bit here, so I'm thrilled about that - no more triple digit heat indexes!!

One of my sweetie's cousins recently celebrated her first birthday.  Her mom sent out the cutest invitations, which inspired me when I created her birthday card.

The invitations had a polka dot background and a couple of butterflies on it.  I'm not sharing the actual invitation because it also included a picture of the cute birthday girl and I wasn't sure how her mom felt about having her baby's picture shared on the internet.  I hope you all understand!!

The colors of the butterfly are similar to one of the butterflies on the invitation and I managed to find some polka dot paper with the same colors too.  I embossed the yellow layer of the wings and gave my butterfly a sweet Peachy Keen face.  A crinkle ribbon bow topped off with a twine bow and button finish off the card!  :-)

I also want  to remind everyone about a fantastic challenge coming up at Fantabulous Cricut on Monday.  We have a wonderful sponsor - Cricut Vinyl Supplies.

Cricut Vinyl Supplies is offering a 15% discount, on top of their already low prices, to help you prepare for the upcoming challenge.  Just use the discount code: fantabulous and stock up on some vinyl!  On top of that, if we get 100 entries to our vinyl challenge the week of September 9, Cricut Vinyl Supplies will be giving away a Cricut Expression!  How fantastic is that?!?

FCCB 176 - Name That Tune

Happy Labor Day!  I hope you have a nice holiday planned today.  It's also a Monday which means it's time for another great challenge at Fantabulous Cricut!  This week's challenge is Name That Tune - we want to see your music themed creations.

I love the Rock Princess cartridge.  I think there are so many fun images on that cartridge!  Most of them are pretty intricate and are tough to put together when they're cut small.  I cut this drummer girl at 4 inches and I don't think I'd try to cut her out any smaller.  Some of the pieces are pretty small, like the drum sticks and her lips, and I can't imagine how tough it would be to put the image together if she were cut out much smaller.

I used my Allegra embossing folder for the subtle background and finished the card off with some stickles on the gold trim pieces and some hot pink twine.

Join in the fun this week over at Fantabulous Cricut and link up your music themed creations by Sunday evening.  Don't forget about our Vinyl University Week next week!  We have a fantastic sponsor, Cricut Vinyl Supplies who will be giving away a Cricut Expression if we get 100 entries in next week's challenge.  The challenge will be all about vinyl, so be sure to stock up on some vinyl now so you're ready for next week's challenge.  Cricut Vinyl Supplies is offering an extra 15% off their already low prices, just use the discount code: fantabulous.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the holiday!
