Just a Note

Good evening!  I hope you have all had a nice weekend!  We had a nice weekend here weather-wise, and my sweetie and I got a few things done around the house.  Nothing too exciting, but a good weekend overall.

I got to spend a little bit of time crafting today and decided to make a card for the challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut.  The challenge this week is Sound of Music - use something musical on your creation.  I decided to make a simple note card that I could add to my stash for one of those times when I want to send someone a quick note.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

2 More IFTL Cards

Hello and Happy Friday!

I was really inspired by Madison's I feel the Love project this month and have two more cards to share with you today.  Madison is collecting Valentines for some of the students who survived the tragedy at Sandy Hook in December as well as cards for Ms. Victoria Soto, one of the teachers who was lost that day.  Stop by Madison's blog HERE for more information.

I just love all the images on the Create a Critter 2 cartridge and couldn't resist using nearly all of the Valentine-themed images for these cards.  They're just too adorable!

If you have a bit of time this weekend, be sure to check out Madison's blog and maybe even send a card her way!

Thanks for visiting!!

Anniversary Card

Happy Saturday!  Are you enjoying the weekend so far?  I got a nice run in this morning and have been able to spend some time crafting, so my weekend is off to a good start.  It was in the 60s here yesterday and today the high is only in the 30s and we could get some snow later.  Crazy how quickly the weather can change!!

This coming Thursday my sweetie and I will be celebrating our first anniversary.  It does not seem like a whole year has gone by already; it seems like it could have been just a few months ago.  I still haven't started on our wedding scrapbook, so I wish it had only been a few months ago - I wouldn't feel so far behind!!

This week over at Fantabulous Cricut, they are having a Tag You're It challenge.  I decided to design my anniversary card so that it would fit this challenge.

I just love the images on the Sweethearts cartridge and decided to go with just the black silhouette to keep the card on the simpler side.  I cut the tag from the Sweethearts cartridge as well, using my Gypsy to hide the cut that was on the tag.

Thanks for coming by to take a look!  Enjoy your weekend!!

Male Birthday Card

Happy Friday!  I told you I had a few January birthdays to prepare for!!  This is actually the last January birthday card I needed, so I can finally move on to some other projects.  :-)

I made this card for my grandpa.  I still struggle with birthday cards for guys.  It's so much easier for girls I think - you can get away with fun characters more easily and you can add flowers and bling to your heart's content!  LOL!!  Anyway, here is the card I created for him.

I am going to link this card up to this week's challenge over at Celebrate the Occasion - boy's birthday, must use blue.

Now I'm off to make some Valentine's Day cards that will definitely be much more girly!!

Hummingbird Birthday Card

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Just a quick post for you today - I wanted to share the birthday card I made for my grandma.  She loves hummingbirds.  For as long as I can remember she has had a hummingbird feeder on her patio and when we visit she will tell me about the different hummingbirds that she sees regularly.  She would probably sit and watch those little fellas all day if you let her!!

Anyway, a while back I was shopping at a little local scrapbooking store and saw a package of brads that had 2 hummingbird brads in it.  I knew when I saw it that I could use them in some way on a card or creation for my grandma.  Here's what I came up with:

Thanks for coming by to take a look!  I hope you're having a great week so far!!

Birthday Sundae

Happy Friday!  Are you all surviving being back to work after the holidays?  Or are some of you enjoying a few more days off??

There are a few January birthdays in my family, so I needed to get started on some birthday cards.  There is a sketch challenge this week over at Die Cuttin Divas, and I was inspired by that for one of my cards.  Here is the sketch:

And here is what I came up with:

I was going through my pattern papers and nothing was appealing to me, so instead I decided to use some embossing folders to create some patterns.  Oh, and the pink I used on the ice cream sundae is a different pink than I used on the card.  I couldn't get it to look good in my pictures, but it shows up better in person!!

Recipe:
Shimmer cardstock from DCWV
Solid cardstock from Bazzill
Ice cream sundae from Sweet Treats cut at 2.5 inches
Sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps Everyday Greetings set
White embossing powder

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!  Did you all have a fun and safe holiday??  My sweetie and I rang in the new year with most of his extended family.  We had a great time playing games before toasting the start of 2013.  I hope you all had a great holiday too!

The project I have to share today is the thank you card I used for my Christmas thank yous.  My sweetie's dad and step-mom gave me a Cuttlebug and some Spellbinders dies for Christmas, so I had to make use of those.  :-)

I'm going to submit this in the challenge over at Go Fish - create a snow/winter themed project.  Thanks for coming by to take a look!
