Class of 2014
Create a graduation project

This challenge works perfectly for me, because one of my sweetie's younger cousins graduated from high school yesterday!  His school colors are purple and gold, so of course I had to incorporate those colors into my card.

The image of the graduate is from the Create a Friend cartridge.  I love how he's holding a little diploma!  It's hard to tell in my pictures, but I embossed the purple mat with a zig zag embossing folder.

I dressed up the inside of the card just a little bit too.  Since my card base was black, I wanted to have a lighter color mat inside to write our message on.  I kept with his school colors and used gold cardstock for the mat and used my photo corner chomper to dress it up a little bit.

I hope you'll join in the fun with us this week and link up your graduation projects over at FCCB!  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Box Card

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I hope your weekend is off to a good start!

Not too long ago, I found some box card files in the Silhouette store.  I have been playing around with them, and I have to say - I love them!  A couple posts back, I shared a box card with flowers that I made for Mother's Day.  Well, here's another one I made to celebrate a birthday.

These box cards come together so easily.  They look like they might take a while to put together, but they really don't.  My only fear with them is that people won't know how to open them up when they receive them.  But, I've watched 2 recipients open them now, and they seem to figure it out quickly enough on their own!  :-)

Die Cuttin Divas is having a Happy Birthday challenge this week, so I'm going to link this up over there.  Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful weekend!

Celebrate Mom
Create a project that celebrates mom.

For my project, I used one of the files from the Cards for Moms SVG Kit from SVGCuts.  This kit comes with files to make 7 different cards!

I love the shape of the card base in this file.  The file comes with all the layers/frames and 'MOM' with a shadow.  I decided to not use the MOM sentiment that came with the file and instead found this script Mom on the Beyond Birthdays cartridge.

This card came together really easily.  The SVGCuts file came with instructions, so it's really easy to know what the different pieces are.  I made another card from the Cards for Moms Kit that I'll be sharing in a couple days.  Be sure to come back to check it out!

I hope you decide to join in the fun with us this week.  Remember, to qualify for the prize, you must use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Box Card

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!  I couldn't celebrate with my mom today, because she is all the way in Arizona.  But thanks to technology, I was able to FaceTime her and wish her a happy day!  My sweetie and I played golf this morning, then went to brunch with his dad and step-mom and her parents.  It was a nice day!

This is the card I made for my sweetie's step-mom for Mother's Day.  I found some great box card files in the Silhouette store recently and have had so much fun making them.

The box card came together really easily!  There is a very helpful YouTube video that shows how to put the box cards together.  Once I watched the video, I had no trouble assembling the card.

These cards are great because they fold flat and fit in an A2 envelope.  I love that these fun cards can be folded flat and mailed!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and a wonderful Mother's Day!

Paper Fun
Create a project that uses Patterned Paper

I've been (slowly!) trying to get my wedding album finished.  This album will be full of pictures family and friends took on our wedding day.

This two page layout is pretty simple.  I was thrilled that I was able to fit 13 pictures on these pages!!  The pattern papers came from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found 3 and Love Me paper pads.

Two thin strips of striped paper frame two 6x6 square of pattern paper on the left page.  I also fit 5 pictures, the title and a cluster of hearts on this page.

The right page is a collage of 8 pictures.  The triangle banner is from the Lost and Found 3 accessory pack.  I'm happy to have two more pages of my wedding album done - now I just need to keep working on more wedding layouts!!

I hope you will join in the fun with us at FCCB this week!  Link up your project this week, and remember, to be eligible for the prize, you must use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project.  Thanks for stopping by today!!
