Anything Goes
Show us your projects!

For my project, I got my inspiration from Pinterest, here.  I'm still trying to get my wedding scrapbooks finished up, and I had a basket full of the cards we received that I wanted to do something with.  I saw this on Pinterest a while back, and thought it was the perfect way to keep our wedding cards.  Here's my version:

The colors are the colors we used for our reception - the papers are actually left over from various projects I made around the time of our wedding!  The front and back covers are two layers of chipboard glued together, then covered in cardstock.  I added a monogram to from the Tie the Knot cartridge to the front cover.  The ribbon is attached to the back cover with two brads, and then simply comes around the "book" to tie in the front.  The metal ring is 3.5" - the largest one I could find.  The book is a bit overstuffed, but it still works!

I hope you will join in the fun with us this week at FCCB!  Anything goes, so let your creativity go wild!!  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

Color Challenge
Create a project that uses the colors purple, yellow and gray

This weekend, my sweetie and I attended a surprise birthday party for a good friend of mine from work.  We started on the same day, and were working on the same project for a short while, and became great friends during that time.  Her mother came in town, which she was expecting, but so did her brother and sister-in-law, which was another surprise!  So fun!!  Anyway, on to my card......

I defaulted to one of my favorite cartridges for birthday cards - Birthday Bash.  I saw the cute mouse coming out of the present, and thought, "How perfect for a surprise birthday party!"

I added some faux stitching to the present and a twine bow along the side finished off my card.

I hope you'll join in the fun with us at FCCB this week and link up your purple, yellow and grey projects.  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Sketch Challenge
Create a project inspired by the sketch below:

This card was inspired by the three flower brads I used.  I was wondering what I could use instead of three squares of paper and came across these brads in my stash of supplies.  Once I saw those, I went looking for an image to go with them and found this pot of flowers on the Freshly Picked Cartridge.

A little more searching through my stash and I found a fun sentiment to accompany the brads and flowers, and my card was coming together!

Sketches are such fun challenges I think!  I hope you'll join in the fun with us this week and link up your project using the sketch over at FCCB.  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

My sweetie and I played in a golf tournament this morning, then took his Dad out to lunch.  We weren't able to spend time with my Dad today, since he lives out of state.  We'll just have to do something nice for him next time we see him!

I thought I'd share the quick card I put together for my Grandpa for Father's Day.

I found this cute card on the Summer Celebrations cartridge.  It made a cute window card, but since I wanted to be able to write a message inside without taking away from the framed sentiment, I adhered pattern paper on the inside of the front of the card.

I thought the card needed a little something after I put it together, so I added the faux stitching around the frame.  Very quick and simple card!

Thanks for stopping by!!

FCCB #214 - Celebrate Dad

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge at FCCB!

Challenge #214 Celebrate Dad
Create a project for dad OR a masculine project

$50.00 Giftcard to SVG Cuts and a BIG SHOT!

My dad is a big golfer, so I tend to go with golf-themed cards for him.  I got the Summer Celebrations cartridge a while back (but had yet to use it!) and I remembered it had a golfer image on it.  As I was looking at the handbook for the cartridge, I realized it also had a card feature.

The card feature for this image has the card base and the black frame layer, and has a window around the golfer.  I decided I didn't want a window into this card, so I took some pattern paper that remind me of grass and sky colors and adhered it on the inside of the front of the card.

And there you have it!  The card feature made this card come together really quickly.  I hope you'll join in the fun with us this week at FCCB and link up your Father's Day or other masculine projects!  Please remember, you may use stamps, SVG cuts and die cuts, but you must use at least 1 Cricut cut to qualify for the prize!!  Please be sure to tell use what cartridge you used somewhere in your description.  Thanks for stopping by!
