Create a project inspired by the sketch below:

For my project this week, I decided to make an Easter gift bag.

I started with a plain kraft gift bag and pattern papers from two Paper Studio stacks.  I found the cute image of the chick in the egg on Create a Critter 2.  The accessory on that page is the bunny ears, which I thought would be a cute touch to tie my egg paper to the hippity hop paper.

I added google eyes to the chick, some glitter to the egg, and did some faux stitching on the ears.  There you have it - a fun gift bag, ready for some Easter treats!

I hope this sketch inspires you to join in the fun over at FCCB!  Remember, to qualify for the prize be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

Bye Bye Birdie
Create a project with a bird on it.

One of my dear friends has a birthday tomorrow and she loves owls.  As I was flipping through some of my handbooks looking at different bird images for this challenge, I came across this fun owl image on Kate's ABCs.  My girlfriend loves owls, so I thought this would be perfect for her.

I thought the shape of this image lent itself perfectly to a circle or square shaped card, instead of the usual A2 sized cards I usually make.  I found this fun scalloped circle shaped card on Birthday Bash.

It's hard to tell in the pictures, but I added Glossy Accents to the stars and the whites of the owl's eyes.  I tied a double bow with crinkle ribbon and added a twine bow and button to finish off my card.

Be sure to join in the fun at FCCB this week and link up your projects that include a bird!  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

Treat Yourself

Hello and Happy Sunday!  Have you all had a good weekend?  We have been teased the past two weekends in my part of the country.  I thought Spring was finally here - we'd had some warmer weather, grass was starting to turn green, plants were starting to come up...... and then..... I wake up to snow!  It was only a dusting both times, but still!!  What is the weather like where you are?  Is it doing crazy stuff like it is here??

Well, over at Die Cuttin Divas, they're having a Snack Lovers challenge and they want you to create a project with your favorite snack on it.  My favorite snack has to be ice cream.  Lately I've been eating frozen Greek yogurt bars, which are pretty close to ice cream, I think.  Anyway, when I went downstairs to start brainstorming a project for this challenge, I came across this fun summer paper I've had in my stash for a few years.  I was drawn to the pattern paper with all the different ice creams and frozen treats on it, and knew I had to use it on my project.

I dug out one of my "oldie but goodie" cartridges, Doodlecharms, for the popsicles and used a fun sentiment from Jaded Blossom.

A quick and easy card that has put me in the mood for some warmer weather and an ice cream treat!!  Thanks for stopping by today!

FCCB 202 - Pinch Me! Use the Color Green

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge at FCCB!

Challenge #202 Use the Color Green

Be Wild and Free stamp set

The first thing that came to mind for me when I thought of a green project was of course St. Patrick's Day since that's what today is!!  So for my project, I decided to make a St. Patty's Day card.

I made my background with tiles of two different green pattern papers.  Then I cut my shamrock from the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.

I tied a crinkle ribbon bow around the stem of the shamrock and dressed it up with a twine bow and a button.

Join in the fun at FCCB this week!  Link up your project that uses the color green.  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

Create a project using the following sketch:

This sketch is from the now defunct Card Positioning Systems.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I feel like I'm always in need of birthday cards, so I decided to make a card for my stash.  I found the cupcake image (including the circle mat behind it) on the Slumber Party cartridge.  It's hard to tell in my pictures, but I added glitter to the frosting and Glossy Accents to the cherry.

I used fun pattern papers from the DCWV Birthday Wishes stack as well as the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug embossing folder.

We'd love to have you join in the fun at FCCB this week!  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

Pop Up Thank You Card

Hello!!  I hope everyone is having a great week!  I've been playing with my Silhouette some more and wanted to share a thank you card I made.

I used the Pop Up Thank You Card image from the Silhouette store.  I cut the card base out of dark blue shimmer paper and the inside layer that pops up out of off-white shimmer paper.  It was so easy to put together and I love how pretty the inside of the card looks.

I couldn't decide what to do with the front of the card though.  Finally I decided to cut out just the "Thanks" with the design around it out of the dark blue shimmer paper, which I mounted on the off-white shimmer paper.

I'm so excited about my Silhouette and am looking forward to playing with it more and more.  It cuts intricate images so easily and it seems like there are endless possibilities with this machine.  I still love my Cricut, don't get me wrong.....I'm just excited to have a new toy to play with!!  Thanks for stopping by today!

FCCB 200 - Pick a Holiday

$10.00 Gift Certificate

I decided to go with an Easter card for this challenge.  I know we have St. Patty's Day right around the corner, but Easter will be here before I know it.  And since I send more Easter cards than St. Patty's Day cards I figured this would give me a chance to get a head start on my Easter cards!

I used one of the fun images on the Teddy Bear Parade cartridge.  This little guy reminds me of the little boy in the Christmas Story movie when he puts on the bunny pajamas his aunt made him.  That movie is one of my brother's favorites, so I'm thinking this card will be going to him and his family.  :-)

I added a little doodling and a couple of gems.  A twine bow and button and a Martha Stewart border punch finish off my card.
