Owl Easel Card

Happy Friday!  I hope you are having a good week.   We got a lot of snow Tuesday and into early Wednesday.  I got a bonus afternoon off on Tuesday and then worked from home on Wednesday.  It sure was nice being able to stay safe and warm at home!

One of my girlfriends recently started a new job - if you saw my post last week, this is a different girlfriend!  She loves owls and as I was searching around in the Silhouette store, I saw this owl easel card and knew immediately I had to make it for her.

I'm still learning how to use my Silhouette and getting used to the Silhouette cutting files.  I opened this file up in Silhouette Studio and I was immediately overwhelmed.  I saw all these shapes and wasn't sure how they were all going to come together.  Thankfully, this is a Lori Whitlock file and she has a YouTube video that show you how easily the card comes together.

I love how the branch holds the owl upright if you don't glue the leaves down to the base!

I stamped my sentiment on the branch on the inside of the card and added some stitching to the owl.  I think he turned out pretty cute, and my girlfriend loved it!  Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. Oh yes, it can be overwhelming figuring out some of the images, being so used to having that handbook to look at. This turned out terrific, I love the little branch underneath the owl!!
