Quick Birthday Card

Good evening!  I've been neglecting my scrap area and blogland lately it feels like. It's been so hot around here that I really haven't been motivated to do a whole lot.  I've been trying to get all my runs in as early as possible to avoid the heat, so I've been running at 4:30 or 5 in the morning some days.  It's been between 75 and 80 degrees at that early hour which is still pretty warm, but no question it's a lot better than running in the triple digit heat after work!!  With all the heat in the midwest, the fires out in Colorado, the floods up in Minnesota and down in Florida we're having a rough start to our summer.  I hope everyone is staying safe and escaping the worst of it!

I was in need of a birthday card for one of my aunts and got downstairs for a bit this evening.  I had an idea in my head earlier today and I was able to pull this card together pretty quickly.  I started looking through my scrap stash for a piece of pattern paper that jumped out at me and I found this flower print.  I love the bright colors, so I decided to go with that for a little bright summery fun.  Here's the card I came up with for her.  Thanks for coming by to take a look!

Recipe:
Solid cardstock from Bazzill and Recollections
Patterned paper from my scrap stash
Present from Life's a Party cut at 2.5 inches
Sentiment from TPC Studio's Greetings set
Ribbon from The Paper Studio
i-rock gems
White Sakura gel pen

  2. I do like the summery feel of your card too. I think your Aunt is going to love it! I wish I was motivated to run in the morning. Once I sit at the computer, I seem to loose interest in everything else. Maybe I should exercise first...nah!
