FCCB 186 - Ribbons and Buttons

Challenge #186: Ribbons and Buttons
Use at least 1 ribbon and 1 button on your project

Happy Monday!  It's time for another fun challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!!  This week's challenge is Ribbons and Buttons.  We want you to use at least 1 ribbon and 1 button on your project.

For my project, I made a card for a good friend of mine from college who is expecting her first baby - a little girl - in a few weeks.  She and her husband are decorating the baby's room in Winnie the Pooh.  This was the perfect excuse for me to break out my Winnie the Pooh cartridges!

I used her shower invitation as the inspiration for this card.  The invitation had a white base, then yellow and pink layers, and had a strip of polka dots, and Winnie the Pooh, too!  So, I used yellow and pink as the primary colors for my card.  Instead of using polka dot paper, I embossed the background layer with my Polka Dots embossing folder.  I tied yellow crinkle ribbon around the card, and dressed up the bow with a twine bow and button.

I used my Imagine to color white cardstock just the right colors for Winnie the Pooh and his shirt.  I was able to find the RGB codes online.  Instead of using the print and cut feature on my Imagine though, I printed squares of color, then cut the image on my Expression.  Sometimes my Imagine leaves just a tiny border of white around the image when it cuts, and I didn't want that on this image.

This was my first time putting one of the Pooh images together.  It was a little tricky to piece together, but I'm really happy with how it turned out.  My sweetie was surprised I had made it - he thought I had bought it!!

We have 2 great sponsors this week, so be sure to link up your project using at least 1 ribbon and 1 button (and of course a Cricut cut!) over at Fantabulous Cricut for your chance to win!
