Happy Monday! Welcome to Scrapping Runner Creations and the 4th of July Fantabulous Cricut Crawl - Fantabulous Cricut's version of a blog hop!!
If you've come from Felicia's blog at A Creative Mess, you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to see all the fabulous Design Team creations head on over to Fantabulous Cricut HERE to start at the beginning.
Make sure to check out each DT member's blog! There will be blog candy along the way at some of our DT members' blogs, and there will be a Grand Prize up for grabs at FCCB for one participant who submits a "Red White and Blue" project at FCCB!
For my project, I made a Fourth of July centerpiece. I made four pinwheels out of red, white and blue paper. I couldn't find any double-sided paper that I liked real well, so I 'made' my own by gluing two sheets of single-sided paper together.
I cut the words and flag from Stand and Salute and stars from Plantin Schoolbook, all in red, white and blue vinyl that I stuck on a plain terra cotta pot.
Here are some close-up shots of the pot. Around the top it says Life, Liberty, Pursuit of happiness.
Here is a close-up of the pinwheels. I made them by cutting square sheets of paper along the diagonals, then folding every other point in to the center, adhering with liquid glue. I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole in the center and I reinforced that with an eyelet. Then I put a white brad through the middle and hot glued the whole thing onto some fun red, white and blue straws I found.
The straws were stuck into foam placed inside the pot. Then I used some shiny shredded filler to cover the foam and fill the pot. It came together pretty easily! The full recipe for the project is below the Cricut Crawl line-up if you're curious.
Your next stop is Jackie at Luv 2 Scrapp. Make sure to visit all the stops along the way and when you get done, link up your project to FCCB's Fantabulous Cricut Crawl post!!
Thanks for stopping by and happy crawling!!
