Treat Yourself

Hello and Happy Sunday!  Have you all had a good weekend?  We have been teased the past two weekends in my part of the country.  I thought Spring was finally here - we'd had some warmer weather, grass was starting to turn green, plants were starting to come up...... and then..... I wake up to snow!  It was only a dusting both times, but still!!  What is the weather like where you are?  Is it doing crazy stuff like it is here??

Well, over at Die Cuttin Divas, they're having a Snack Lovers challenge and they want you to create a project with your favorite snack on it.  My favorite snack has to be ice cream.  Lately I've been eating frozen Greek yogurt bars, which are pretty close to ice cream, I think.  Anyway, when I went downstairs to start brainstorming a project for this challenge, I came across this fun summer paper I've had in my stash for a few years.  I was drawn to the pattern paper with all the different ice creams and frozen treats on it, and knew I had to use it on my project.

I dug out one of my "oldie but goodie" cartridges, Doodlecharms, for the popsicles and used a fun sentiment from Jaded Blossom.

A quick and easy card that has put me in the mood for some warmer weather and an ice cream treat!!  Thanks for stopping by today!

I Heart You
Create a project that uses a heart

For my project, I created another Valentine's card using the Sweethearts cartridge.  I cut three of the heart balloon images and layered them on top of each other.  I brought the strings together and tied a piece of twine around them.

I embossed my background, then popped the balloons up using pop dots, giving the balloons a couple different layers of dimension.

I used a Jaded Blossom sentiment to finish off my card.

Join us for our I Heart You challenge, and link up your project over at FCCB.  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by today!

This challenge works perfectly with Valentine's Day coming up.  I decided to get started on my cards for the occasion and came up with this.

I found the cute owl on the Create a Critter 2 cartridge.  I popped him up on top of my embossed background.

I used a Jaded Blossom sentiment and finished my card off with some twine.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my creation!  I hope that you will all visit FCCB and join in this week's challenge!  To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

FCCB 195 - Mix and Match

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge with FCCB!

Challenge #195 Mix and Match
Use 3 different patterns of paper

Winner will receive the Funny Valentine stamp set

For my project, I made a congratulations card for a friend of mine.  We used to work together, until I got a new job last July.  She recently found a new job as well - which she starts today!  A group of us met last week for dinner, and I gave her this card.

I have a light purple card base, then a layer of chevron paper.  I popped up a dark purple layer with polka dot paper on top of that.  Then I popped up the blackout shadow and image, which were cute out of striped paper and the same dark purple paper.  The star is the same light purple as the background.  Lots of dimension to this card as well as all the patterns!

You can't tell in my pictures, but I added some glitter to the star.  I added some crystal gems and some dots with a gel pen to finish off the front of the card.

Inside the card, I used a sentiment from Jaded Blossom's Simple Sayings 3 set - perfect for the occasion!  :-)

Join in the fun this week over at FCCB!  To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for coming by to check out my project!
