Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge at FCCB!

Create a project related to water

I sent this card to my mom for her birthday.  She lives in Arizona and has a pool in her backyard and enjoys spending the hot afternoons soaking in her pool.  So when I saw this image I immediately thought of her, and hoped that she was able to spend some time relaxing in the pool on her birthday!

This image is from the Pack Your Bags cartridge.  I added a little gemstone to the flower on the girl's swimcap, and a crinkle ribbon and twine bow finish off the card.

I hope you will join in the fun at FCCB this week!  Remeber, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

FCCB 175 - Heat Wave

Happy Monday!!  I'm sure you all know what Monday means - time for another fun challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!  This week's challenge is Heat Wave - create a project using something associated with the summer heat.  This challenge is perfect timing for me here in the Midwest.  We've been pretty spoiled for most of the summer - temperatures haven't been too hot and we've had a few rainstorms here and there.  But the past week or so has been a different story.  It's been hot and humid and it looks like it's going to be that way for at least the next week or so!

Earlier this summer, my sweetie and I went down to the Lake of the Ozarks and stayed with some of his family.  We had a great time out on the boat and playing around the pool.  I made this card thank you card for them.

We spent a good bit of time out on the lake, just floating and relaxing and when I saw this image of the girl floating in the inner tube it reminded me of floating out on the lake.

I embossed the water for some texture and added a tiny crystal gem to the flower on the girl's cap.  I used the hide contour feature on my Gypsy to hide the cuts on her face so I could use one of my cute Peachy Keen face stamps.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my creation! Be sure to link up your summer creations to the Heat Wave challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut by Sunday evening!!

Summer Fun Thank You

Happy Monday!  Did you all have a fabulous weekend?  And are you as addicted to the Olympics as I am?!?  My sweetie and I had a great time down at the lake with some family - we played golf, swam, went out on the boat, and most importantly we got some much needed R&R!

I made this thank you card to give to my sweetie's aunt to thank her and her family for letting us stay with them and enjoy the weekend with them.  I'm going to submit this into the challenge over at Die Cuttin Divas - Summer Fun.  I created a mini-scene with images that make me think of relaxing along the beach or by the pool.

Now I'm off to watch some more Olympic coverage!  Hope your week is off to a great start!
