This challenge is very fitting for me right now - we've been getting a lot of rain and thunderstorms around here lately.  And let me tell you, it seems like every time it has rained here recently, it has poured, just like the sentiment on my card says!!

When I was at one of the local craft stores not too long ago, I was flipping through a pad of paper from The Paper Studio and this paper with the rain boots on it jumped out at me.  I thought it was so cute!  When I saw this challenge, I knew it would be perfect.  I love the bright colors, especially since I've been seeing so many grey skies lately!!

FCCB 168 - Cute as a Bug

Happy Monday!  It's time for another fun challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!!  This week's challenge is Cute as a Bug - include any bug on your project.

I looked through all my stamp sets and couldn't find a bug-related sentiment that appealed to me when I was making this card.  So I decided to find a cute bug and go with a more generic sentiment instead.

I cut this cute dragonfly from the Paisley cartridge, using my Gypsy to hide the cuts on the face so I could use a Peachy Keen stamp instead.  It's hard to tell in the pictures, but I added glitter to the dragonfly's wings.

I popped the dragonfly up using pop dots and finished the card off with some twine and a button.  A pretty simple card that I am sure will come in handy as a thank you or just to send a friend a little note sometime.

Have a Hoot!

Happy Friday Eve!!  Are you all ready for Easter weekend??  The weather here was beautiful today and I think it's going to stay pretty nice this weekend.  A little spring-like weather for Easter weekend would be wonderful!!

Yesterday was one of my very good friend's birthday.  She was able to spend the day with her husband and celebrate in style - so happy for her!  She loves owls so I knew I wanted to put an owl on her card.  Also, the challenge this week over at Die Cuttin Diva's is "Embossing with Ribbon" so I decided to make a card that would work for their challenge.

 I just got the Happy Birthday embossing folder the other day and was excited to put it to use.  It's one that I've been eyeing for a while, just hadn't pulled the trigger and bought it.  I finally decided to and I'm glad I did  - I really like the look of it!

I got a text message yesterday from my friend telling me how much she liked her card.  Warmed my heart!!  :-)

Good evening everyone!  I hope you are all having a great week so far.  I can't believe June is nearly here!!

The card I have to share tonight is one I made for my sweetie's best friend's daughter.  She's celebrating her 10th birthday.  She is into zebra print these days, and I knew I had some zebra print paper in my stash.  I decided to go with a zebra as well - I think the image of the zebra in the car from the Paisley cartridge is so cute.  This is what I came up with for her card.  I'm going to enter this in the challenge over at Celebrate the Occasion.  The challenge this week is Anything Goes!  Thanks for coming by to take a look!

Die Cuttin Divas Challenge #57

Happy Friday!  Boy did this week fly by - I can't believe the weekend is already here!  I didn't have much time for crafting this week, but I did manage to get downstairs last night and get a card made for this week's challenge over at Die Cuttin Divas.  The challenge this week is Music, in honor of Music in Our Schools Month.

I knew I wanted to use my Rock Princess cartridge along with the Rock On stamp set I have from Pink by Design.  I have also been eying the musical note paper in one of my DCWV stacks and have been wanting to incorporate it into a project for a while now.  So I put on some good music for inspiration, sat down with the stamp set in front of me and started flipping through the RP handbook.  This is what I came up with.  Thanks for coming by to take a look!

Roots n Blues LO

Hello everyone!  I'm still trying to get caught up on layouts from trips that my sweetie and I took last year.  My goal was to get them done before we left for our wedding back in January.  Kinda missed that deadline.  Oh well, better late than never I guess!

This layout is from a quick weekend trip we took to Columbia, MO for the Roots n Blues n BBQ festival last September.  The festival is full of good music and food.  They have 3 stages set up, all close to the MU campus and within walking distance of each other.  Once you're in the festival, you can walk around as you please to any of the stages.  One of our favorite bands, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, was playing there, which is one of the big reasons we went.  A couple of our friends joined us for the festival on Saturday.  We had a blast listening to some good music and enjoying some great food!  We also managed to find a sports bar nearby so that I could watch my Iowa State Cyclones defeat their in-state rivals, the Iowa Hawkeyes, in triple overtime - one of my favorite moments of that weekend!  :)

I found some cute images on the Rock Princess and Paisley cartridges for my layout.  The 'border' along the bottom of the left page is the wrist bands that we were given each day at the festival.  The empty green square is for my journaling.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Wedding Hair Thank You

One of my mom's sisters is a hair dresser and is doing my hair for me for my wedding.  I wasn't sure I'd ever have a use for this hair dryer image (it certainly wasn't one of the images I bought this cartridge for!) but I'm sure glad I had it because it fits this occasion perfectly!

7th Birthday

Hello!  I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.  Yesterday afternoon, we stopped by a good friend's house for their daughter's seventh birthday.  We weren't able to stay long because we had other family obligations, but we were able to give her a card and gift and visit for a while.  Their daughter likes elephants (like me!) and she loves to look at my elephant collection when she comes over to our house.  She was thrilled with the card and loved that the elephant was on an action wobble!!  Thanks for taking a look!

Greetings!  I hope everyone is having a good week!!  The card I'm sharing tonight is for my sweetie.  He has been a little stressed at work lately - he was recently promoted, but is in that transition time where he's responsible for tasks for both his previous position and his new one.  It's only temporary of course, but he's been working long hours and is just waiting for that light at the end of the tunnel to finally arrive.  I slipped this card into his work bag, figuring he'd find it during the day and hopefully bring a smile to his face.  Mission accomplished!

Bee-lated Birthday

Over at Scrappy Moms Stamps, the Terrific Tuesday challenge this week is to use the Paisley cartridge.  This is a cartridge that I haven't used a lot, even though it has so many great images.  I also recently got My Pink Stamper's 'Even More Punny-licious' stamp set and have been anxious to use it.  Flipping through the Paisley handbook, I saw the bee image and knew exactly what to create - making use of the cart and also my new stamps!  Below is my creation - thanks for stopping by to check it out!!
