JOY Door Hanger

Good morning!  We're taking a little break over at Fantabulous Cricut for the holidays.  Instead of challenges, the Design Team members are each posting a holiday project on different days.  Today is my day - thanks for coming by!

As I was putting out my Christmas decorations this year, I realized we do not have anything hanging on our front door.  I knew right away that had to change!!

I saw a cute "Joy" image on the Create a Critter 2 cartridge where the "O" was a wreath.  I thought that would be cute as a door hanger, but I wanted my creation to be bigger than I could fit on one piece of paper through my Cricut.  So, I found a wreath image and a fun font and created this:

The wreath is from the Jolly Holidays cartridge and the letters are from Opposites Attract.  I cut the letters out 3 times, twice in heavy green cardstock, then once in the striped cardstock.  I glued them all together to make the images a little more sturdy.  I only cut the wreath out once (it felt pretty sturdy with all its layers, especially since the cardstock I was using was all pretty heavy).  Then I simply adhered the J and Y on the edges of the wreath where they overlapped a little bit.

The wreath image already had a small circle at the top which worked perfectly for me to hang my sign.  I simply made a loop of fishing line through the circle and was able to "invisibly" hang this on my front door.

Gift Bags

Hello!  Can you believe Christmas is less than 2 weeks away?!?  Are you ready??  We are nearly finished shopping, but I've only just started our Christmas cards.  I'm hoping to get them finished up by the weekend and in the mail by Monday - wish me luck!!

Today I am sharing a gift bag I made using a tutorial I had found quite a while ago.  I have seen a number of people make bags like this, most recently Gigi over at The Cricut Bug.  You can find the tutorial for making these bags HERE.  The bags are easy to make and work perfectly for those small gifts you're giving - I'm putting soft fuzzy socks in them.

Christmas Card Holder

Good evening!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that your week is off to a good start.  My weekend was busy, but also productive - I managed to get quite a bit of crafting done!

One of the projects I completed this weekend was a Christmas card holder.  My sweetie and I didn't have a good way to display Christmas cards that we have received.  I saw a creation on Pinterest that I thought would be great - a wreath made out of painted clothes pins on wire shaped in a circle.  Have you seen the one I'm talking about?

Cute, huh?  Well, I got the clothes pins, painted them, strung them on the wire, tied my bow.....all was going fine until I tried to get it on my wall.  No luck.  I just couldn't get the clothes pins to behave, my circle turned in to an oval, and it just looked all wrong.  Ugh!  So, back to the drawing board (also known as Pinterest and Google LOL!!).  

I got some inspiration and this is what I created:

I am much happier with how this turned out!  (Sorry for the bad lighting in the pics - it's been cloudy here the past few days so the light wasn't good).  I cut the frame shape twice out of thicker cardstock and glued the ribbon that will hold the cards between the two pieces.  To hang my sign, I punched two holes with my Crop-A-Dile Big Bite and reinforced them with eyelets, then tied a ribbon through them to create my hanger.

Happy Friday everyone!  About a week ago we got an unexpected package in the mail.  When I opened it I found the cutest framed picture of my step-niece's baby boy who was born in September.  I thought it was so sweet that she sent us his picture and of course had to make one final holiday thank you to send to her.  This is what I came up with.  Thanks for stopping by to take a look and have a wonderful weekend!

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas everyone!  Did you all have a great day??  My day started with a nice long run along a new route so I was able to enjoy some new scenery.  That was followed by a wonderful breakfast, Christmas dinner and some good quality time with family.

The project I'm sharing this evening is the Christmas card I made to send out to family and friends this year. It was a bit more time consuming than I was expecting when I planned the card out in my head, but I was happy with the way it turned out and definitely think it was worth it.

The card base is a multi panel card that I got the instructions for HERE.  The card base itself was very easy to make, but the cutting and gluing of the strips and squares of paper took longer than I was expecting.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!!

Can you believe that Christmas is only 10 days away??  I sure can't!  I'm pretty sure I'm finished shopping, but I haven't wrapped anything and still haven't finished my Christmas cards.  Needless to say, I know what I'll be doing this weekend!!

Even though I feel like I still have a mountain of things to do before Christmas, I have managed to get a few things crossed off my list.  One of those things is some gift tags.  Here are four tags I created to add to packages..... when I finally get them wrapped that is! LOL!

MCS Monday Challenge #35

Hello everyone and happy Friday!!  I'm really looking forward to this weekend.  Work was stressful this week, so I'm definitely ready for a break for a couple of days.  I also have a scrap night planned with one of my best friends, which is always great - crafting and girl time....gotta love it!

The project I have to share tonight is a Christmas card that I created for 2 reasons.  One was so that I could send another card to Madison's I Feel the Love Project.  Click HERE for more information on that.  The second reason I created this card is for the Monday Challenge over at My Craft Spot.  The challenge this week is 'Christmas Through the Window' - to create a Christmas card or project with a window.  Christmas cards are always fun for me, but adding a window.....that's something I don't do very often.  What a great challenge!  Thanks for stopping by to take a look!
