Imagine Card

Happy Friday!  Do you have some fun plans for the weekend?  Maybe some last preparations for Halloween??  My sweetie and I were planning to go up to Ames, Iowa to watch my Iowa State Cylcones play football, but our plans fell through.  So all of a sudden, my weekend has opened up, and all I can think is Extra Craft Time!!

Today I'm sharing a quick birthday card.  My Imagine sits neglected, right next to my Expression - I'm sure jealous every time my Expression gets turned on.  I decided to dust it off to make this card.  I forget how fun the Imagine can be with the different pattern papers you can print, how you can print the layers separately, etc.

The background paper for this card was printed with my Imagine, so the colors match perfectly.  I print and cut my cupcakes and plate image as one combined layer and also as separate pieces.  Then I layered the pieces on top of the combined image using pop dots of different thicknesses for some fun dimension on my card.  I tried to capture that in this picture:

Happy Birthday Mom!

Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday yesterday.  My sweetie and I came home from celebrating with friends and watching fireworks only to realize that our air conditioner had conked out.  Not good when they're forecasting triple digit temperatures here for the next 3 days!  Thankfully we were able to get some good recommendations from friends for HVAC repair companies and someone was able to come out today to fix our air conditioner - and thankfully it was something they could fix easily and we didn't have to wait for parts to be ordered!!

On a brighter note, today is my mother's birthday.  The card I'm sharing today is the one I made for her.  A while back I googled 'card sketches' and found a ton of great images.  I didn't write down where the sketches originated unfortunately, so I'm not able to give appropriate credit.  Sorry!  This card is based off of a sketch I found online.  I used my Yummy Imagine cartridge for the image and the background papers - I just love my Imagine and how the papers and images coordinate!

Happy Friday Eve!  This week over at My Craft Spot, the challenge is Buttons and Bows - include buttons and bows on your project.  I was in need of a card for my step-niece whose birthday is next week and I got the Yummy Imagine cartridge not too long ago, so I decided to pull it out and see what I could find.  As I was flipping through the handbook I saw this image with a swirl on it that looked like a letter C.  Since her first name starts with a C, I thought it was perfect.  The pattern paper is printed from the Yummy cartridge as well.

I decided to make an easel card and put the cupcake on an action wobble, then I added a few bows and buttons.  I love how quickly a card can come together when I use my Imagine!  I have to admit though.....when I saw this image and as I was putting the card together, I thought it was a cupcake.  Now I look closer at it, and I wonder if it's supposed to be a candy....  hmmm.....  Think it will pass for a cupcake??  One with no icing anyway??  LOL!!  Thanks for stopping by to take a look!
