Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!!  It's a beautiful Spring day here and we plan to make the most of it.  My sweetie and I are hoping to get out and play some golf later this afternoon - my first time getting out on the golf course in 2013!

I wanted to share one more Easter card that I made this year.  I wanted to use another of the cute images from Create a Critter 2.  I also wanted to make something a little different than the standard A2 card.

I simply cut the front side of the card in half and attached the scalloped circle from Elegant Edges.
On the inside I put another scalloped circle, directly under the one on the front flap, to make a spot to write my message.  Pretty simple, but a little different, which is what I was after!

I hope you all have a fabulous holiday today!!

2nd Birthday Card

Happy Saturday!  I hope your weekend is off to a good start!!  I ran this morning with some good friends - we got sprinkled on a little bit but it wasn't too bad, so we were happy about that!  This afternoon my sweetie and I are headed to a 2nd birthday party for a couple of our friends' little girl.

I needed to get a card made and thought I would make one that fits a challenge.  Over at Bitten by the Bug 2, the challenge this week is to use the card feature from any Cricut cartridge.  All of the cuts for this card are from the Birthday Bash cartridge - including the card base!  :-)

I think this giraffe on roller skates is just a fun image!  In the handbook, he's holding the number 3 in his mouth.  I used the font from Birthday Bash to cut out the number 2 and the shadow to put in place of the 3.
I added a bit of glitter to the spots on the giraffe and a double twine bow to finish it off.
Inside, I stamped the sentiment using My Pink Stamper's Sweet Baby set.

Thanks for coming by to take a look at my card.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Have a Hoot!

Happy Friday Eve!!  Are you all ready for Easter weekend??  The weather here was beautiful today and I think it's going to stay pretty nice this weekend.  A little spring-like weather for Easter weekend would be wonderful!!

Yesterday was one of my very good friend's birthday.  She was able to spend the day with her husband and celebrate in style - so happy for her!  She loves owls so I knew I wanted to put an owl on her card.  Also, the challenge this week over at Die Cuttin Diva's is "Embossing with Ribbon" so I decided to make a card that would work for their challenge.

I just got the Happy Birthday embossing folder the other day and was excited to put it to use.  It's one that I've been eyeing for a while, just hadn't pulled the trigger and bought it.  I finally decided to and I'm glad I did  - I really like the look of it!
I got a text message yesterday from my friend telling me how much she liked her card.  Warmed my heart!!  :-)

Thanks for coming by to take a look!  I hope you're all having a great week!!

FCCB 154 - Easter

Happy Monday!!  Did you all have a good weekend?  We got more snow this weekend - nearly a foot!  I can't believe Spring is officially here when we have snow on the ground!

Monday means another fun challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!!  This week's challenge is "Easter" - show us all your fabulous Easter creations!

I made a fun little card using Create a Critter 2.  I love all the fun images on that cartridge - all of the seasons and holidays are covered it seems!

I popped my bunny up on pop dots and added glitter to his ears, nose, cheeks and tummy.  I finished the card off with some twine and a button.

Be sure to check out all the other design team members' Easter projects and join in the fun with us this week!!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

A Very Happy Birthday

Good morning!  I hope you have all been having a good week!  I've been working from home this week and I must say, I thought that being at home I'd be able to get more things done around the house while I'm here during breaks (including crafting!).  But that has not been the case!!  I'm not sure where the hour of time that I usually spend commuting has gone either!

Today is my sweetie's grandpa's 93rd birthday.  The family is getting together this weekend to celebrate, and I did manage to get downstairs and make a card for him.

I kept this card very simple - and it's one of my rare Cricut-free creations!  All this one required was an embossing folder, some ribbon and a button!!

I'm hoping to find some time to get out and check out your blogs and see the crafty creations you've come up with lately!  Thanks for stopping by today!!

FCCB #153 - Spring is in the Air

Happy Monday!  It's time for another fun challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!!  This week's challenge is "Spring is in the Air".  We want to see your projects with kites or balloons on them.

I tried to keep the colors bright and cheerful for spring and thought I'd make a card to send to someone just to let them know I'm thinking of them on a nice spring day.  We were teased last week with a couple of very spring-like days.  It's been colder and rainy over the weekend.  I'm hoping we get more of that spring weather soon!!

I'm looking forward to seeing all your spring creations with kites or balloons on them!  Be sure to link up at Fantabulous Cricut by next Sunday!!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hello and Happy St. Patrick's Day!!  Are you all enjoying the weekend?  Maybe going to a St. Patrick's Day parade?  Or eating corned beef and cabbage?  We aren't going out, but my sweetie plans to take some green food coloring to his beer a little later today and he's cooking corned beef and cabbage.  Yum!

My sweetie's best friend is coming over today to help lay tile in our master bathroom.  His wife and their three daughters are coming over as well and the 5 of us girls plan on having a crafty afternoon.  Should be fun!  I thought that since their kids were coming over on St. Patrick's Day I'd make little treat bags for them. I recently got the Teddy Bears on Parade cartridge and I've been dying to make one of those cute bears!!

I filled the bags with Rolos, which I think kind of look like gold coins.  :-)

I kept the treat bags pretty simple since they're going to young girls who are likely to rip them apart to get to the candy!!  I'm going to link these treat bags up to Die Cuttin Diva's Green and Gold challenge.

Thanks for coming by to take a look!  I hope you enjoy your St. Patrick's Day!!

FCCB #152 - Luck O' The Irish

Happy Monday!!  It's time for another fun challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!!  It's not my official design team week, but I decided to play along anyway.  :-)  The challenge this week is Luck O' The Irish.  We want to see your St. Patrick's Day projects!

I went to one of my favorite cartridges, Simply Charmed, and cut these fun St. Patty's Day images.

I love the Peachy Keen face stamps and decided to give my leprechaun a little winky face.  I hid his eyes, nose and mouth using my Gypsy, but I still cut out his eyebrows - I thought the orange eyebrows were just too cute!

I put the little leprechaun on an action wobble so he'd be even more playful!

Thanks for coming by to take a look!  I'm looking forward to seeing your St. Patrick's Day creations over at Fantabulous Cricut!!

Birthday Cupcakes

Good morning!  I hope you have all been having a wonderful weekend!  We had a grey and rainy Saturday here.  My sweetie and I got a few things done around the house and I was also able to sneak in a little crafting.  A little later today I'm headed over to a girlfriend's house to do some scrapbooking.  Crafting on both days of the weekend = no complaints from me!  :-)

This week over at Die Cuttin Divas, they're having a sketch challenge.  I have a number of birthdays coming up so I decided to create a birthday card.  Here is the sketch we were given:

And here is my creation:

I plan to send this birthday card to a guy, so I kept it pretty simple.   You can't really tell in my pictures but the pattern paper and a couple of the solid papers have a bit of shimmer to them.  I didn't want to add too much else to the card for fear of blinging it up too much.

I also broke out a cartridge I've had for quite a while but never used - Love You a Latte.  That cartridge has so many fun images on it; I don't know why I haven't used it yet!  Does anyone else have cartridges like that - one you like but haven't used yet??

Thanks for coming by to take a look at my creation.  Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!

Thinking of You

Happy Friday Eve!  This has been a busy week at work for me, which is making me look forward to the weekend even more.  I managed to sneak in some crafting this evening which was a nice stress reliever from my busy week.  :-)

The card I made tonight was inspired by a card my friend Missy made recently.  I thought the layout was neat, so I scrap-lifted!  Actually, I got the pattern papers I used for this card from her too, so a huge "Thank you!!" to Missy, otherwise this card never would have been created!!

I made this card for my sweetie's grandfather who recently moved in to a nursing home.  It's been quite an adjustment for him and the family.  I think he knows it's the best thing for him but it's quite a transition going from living independently with your spouse to living in a nursing home.  Thankfully the nursing home is not too far from all of his kids and most of his grandkids so he has visitors every day.  My sweetie and I are headed up there this weekend to visit so I thought I'd take this card along so he will be reminded that we are always thinking of him.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!  I hope you have a great Friday!!

FCCB #151 - Bye Bye Birdie

Good morning!

I'm excited to be sharing my first post as a Fantabulous Cricut design team member!  This week the challenge is Bye Bye Birdie - create a project with a bird.  This is a perfect opportunity for me to pull out one of my favorite cartridges - 3 Birds on Parade!

I saw this cute little bird holding the bouquet of flowers and thought the image would go perfectly with this stamp from one of My Pink Stamper's retired sets.

Be sure to join in the challenge this week over at Fantabulous Cricut!!  Thanks for stopping by!
